@Ruby Majestic, there is a very lore friendly reason for it. The game explains that this ore hasn’t been around much the last 100 years. The NPC only remembers it was found near the Slow Wash. The game wants you to go there and use your miner instincts to find it. That means hanging around Slow Wash until the node spawns.

for those who are complaining about people complain about not finding it the issue is that the thing does not show up in the gathering log even if you manually search for it this has been an issue for a while and some items the quests want you to find to this day still do not show up in the logs that is why people are frustrated

If any of yall are following all these steps and still can't find it, make sure you're on your own data center/world. I tried looking for it while traveling and it wouldn't pop up for me. Went back to my home world and boom! There it was! I hope this could be of some help for someone :)

To answer Exo Mage's question below (or above whatever), the reason it doesnt show in the gathering log is cuz its technically a "quest only" item and can only be gathered/seen while doing the quest. My guess is this is their way of preventing ppl from just getting it from the marketboard or having someone gather it for them which could be done at lower levels. It would be helpful if they still added it in the log though.

Yup. just has to be either 8 AM/PM. As long as you are in the Slow Wash area it's not hard to spot.

around 8:30 am eorzea time pummelite has appeared when i was waiting i was able to farm it. make sure have truth of the mountain really helps

Okay, I'm seeing some misinformation here regarding ingame time in comparison to real time: 24 hours in Eorzea is not an hour in real time; it's 70 minutes.

Confirmed. Node popped around 6:19pm PST/ 9:19pm EST which was equivalent to 8pm Eorzea time.
Just remember:
24 hours in Eorzea is 1 hour in Earth time.
Each hour in Eorzea is 2 mins and 55 seconds in Earth time.
You can also change your local time into Eozean time as well.

Just when I thought only sightseeing was time restrictive. Ah well, waiting 4 hours to do quest.
Thanks for the heads up on clicking click to convert to game time. I couldn't get Google to give me a proper time conversion to EST.

Can confirm with others: The Peaks(27.5,12 - just SE of Ala Gannha) 8:00-10:00/20:00-22:00 - it's on the same node as Raw Rhodonite in the log.
Blessed Harvest II + Bountiful Harvest II = you'll probably get the full 5 in one go. Doesn't have to be HQ thankfully!
The rest of the attempts can be used to harvest the rhodonite for sale/crafting.
